In sub saharan Africa ,many deaths occur as a result of respiratory distress especially in the maternal and neonatal health. The deaths in the neonatal and maternal health are due to haemorrhage,eclampsia and asphyxia. The primary solutions we have to solve this are oxygen supply through oxygen tanks which tend to be fairly expensive and scarce in the low reserve areas of our country.
The project aims to solve this through fabrication of a locallyb made portable oxygen concentrator. This a device that uses the Pressure Swing Technology to concentrate oxygen from ambient air. The project execution will be done using a shop bolt or CNC to do the outer casing. A CNC to do the adsorption columns and a 3 D printer to do the casings for the columns. Thre is electronics and programming of the fourway solenoid valves.
